Is there a dock to tie your boat up at night, or do you have to launch every day?

Also, have they been having issues with the gnats up there?

Campsites on or near the water just tie up to stakes on the bank and charge up from their campers. There is a dock but my understanding is not to use it for overnight

Seriously, need a serious answer about the bull gnats... My friend that wants to camp there is having big problems with them, and cannot tolerate any more bites...

Be careful with Deet...Some folks have really bad reactions with it..When it first came out they had posted warning not to let it touch your skin..We sprayed our clothes..let them dry, then put them on..It works great, if you can tolerate it

The Louisiana forum currently has a thread, "Gnats". Take a look at it to see how some folks are dealing with them. Vanilla extract and Victoria's Secret Amber Romance have been suggested.

I can guarantee that the Amber romance body spray works on those biting gnats on the coast, but take pictures for proof that you sprayed it on yourself so wifey won't suspect you weren't fishing....
