I’ve had my boat get away from me once like that except it was about 35 degrees. Luckily some other dummy came along soon and I was able to hitch a ride to my boat. When you pull up to the ramp, you can about always expect something to go wrong.

Glad it all worked out, did something similar last year but decided against swimming for it, you are young but us middle age fellars got to be careful. Luckly ole Billbob was just across the way at the camp grounds.

I always thought those things only happen to me. lol
I remember backing down the ramp looking in my rear view mirror and I heard a snap, then I saw my old rope flying toward my boat. No time to strip down. I hit the water clothes and all. My wallet needed a good washing anyway. It will get the blood flowing.
I put in early one morning only to find out I left my boat keys a home.
Sorry for your troubles, it happens, at least you are not hurt or worse.
