Trolling Battery

Don't kid yourself with a heavy fiberglass boat and the 31's. You won't get that much more time out of them as I have gone thru this process this summer, and even lengthened my trolling motor shaft to 60" which did help alot.
My plan is to purchase (2) Trojan 1275's by next spring and I will be set. Cranking is going to be coming to an end before too long, so that is why I'm going to wait.

You are spot on Brian, and the cart batts will outlast the others as far as years of service.

Check the reserve amp hours of the batteries you're interested in. They are all rated at 25% draw. The Golf Cart batteries are 292 reserve amp hours. Better than any I've seen. I sell them to lots of the guides at Grenada.

I have 2 group 31's and a 24v Terrova. One of the batteries is also used for cranking. There is no room for a third battery. I have trolled crankbaits for 8-9 hours and have yet to run them down completely. Outboard always cranks right up after a long day of trolling.

Two 6 volt Trojen cart batteries in series, or like Spec says, two twelve's in parallel.
Other option is Optima deep cycle's. I've used them for years in the truck and boat.

Pulled for 9.5 hours today at 1.8, still had more to go when we went in. Cart batts are the ticket, guess thats why they put em in golf carts. They take a heavy discharge way better.

If you are anywhere near a Sams check out the Duracell GC12. They have a pretty good price for a 12V 155AH (at 20 amp rate) golf cart battery.

I put 2 of them in series for my 24V Terrova ..... haven't ran them down yet.
