Roadrunner Trolling

I had the same problem with my tracker until I took the plug out and straight wired it. Now it will run fine.

That's probably 8 gauge wire. Should be enough with the proper breaker.

I troll roadrunners a bunch in colder water behind planner boards about 0.8-1.0 mph. It's amazing how shallow you can catch crappie when the bait is away from the boat. Last spring we caught crappie up to 2 pounds in water as shallow as 1.5 feet deep with the trolling motor kicking up sand and mud.

Caught em power trolling in Enid one year, 5' of water, July, 100 degree temps. Who woulda thought..

Don't need any planer boards to do that! Deploy the spider, and get down and dirty with them feeshes!!
Lake Washington is notorious for shallow bite. Water temps can be 45 to 48 degrees, you better have 1 or 2 rods set to about 2 ft deep!

I didn't say I HAD to run planers. I do it because I enjoy it as do my clients. You do it your way and I'll do it mine.

I like pushing them like that with the heavy weights anywhere you would push cranks. I think they catch just as many fish and I push them as fast as you would crankbaits. A lot cheaper than five dollars a pop to when you get hung up.
