Which 10" Helix are you looking at hdhntr? When I bought the Helix 10, I purchased the Sonar/GPS for use with a map card and the US2 ducer on the new Ultrex. I have a Helix 7 SI GPS Combo, has SI, DI and Switch-fire sonar. I guess what I'm asking will this be a second unit and if so what would it be designated for, or are you looking just to make one good purchase on one unit? Thanks
Primary unit. Looked at helix 7 si gps combo as well. Trying to get best bang for buck.

9 inch seems to b worth the few bucks extra over 7.

If that is going to be your primary unit than yes it's worth the extra money, buy as big as you can afford is the saying that gets repeated a lot here. Someone mentioned there were some advantages over the 10" and up units and up awhile back. Can't remember what they said was the advantage was not just the bigger screen, I will look and see if I can find the post. Maybe some more experienced electronics guys will chime in here, I just got the 10 a couple months ago, and slabin sent me the link to Digital Oasis after I got quotes from some sponsors first..
10s and up have a different processor, at least that is what I have been told. Think that is why they all come with the HD transducer, 9s and down come with the other one.
10 has better screen resolution = clearer picture than the 9 as well
