No they aren't easier but they free up some. They are way stronger

What size are you guys using? Are they easier to hook than regular snaps?

I use them all the time. Only exception is when I'm single pole jig fishing. All other times I have a snap tied on. I use lots of them.
I can't remember the size, sorry. Mine are about 5/8" to 3/4" long. If that helps

The next question from the guys who haven't used Duo-locks is "What size"?
Too small (#0) and they are hard to open/close...size 1 or 2 are both ideal for crankbaits.
Just my opinion and Thanks to Canebreaker for listing the above info...

I use either 1 or 2 after looking at the size charts
Just a suggestion....I get orange waterproof match holders from wally world for about 3 bucks. They have a screw-on lid with a rubber seal and are about 4" long.I throw out the matches and store my Duo-locks in one, barrel swivels in another, and 3-ways in another. They live in my crankbait bag's pouch.
Suggestion # 2 --Wally world ,and others sell rolls of 1" Velcro with hooks on one side, loops on the other.Cut it about 8-10" long to use as rod raps when transporting your poles.Usually put one on top and bottom.Keeps them organized and unbroken. All the old salty dogs (a complement) do it or at least know about it.

Looks like a double over hand loop knot would be almost as easy and still work?
