Shrimp, Oysters and Crawfish

my family does inshore shellfish up north on Cape Cod where fresh quahogs, mussels , oysters and pissah clams are fresh daily,, Not to forget our beloved lobsters,, My Uncle sells them out of his clamshack on canal there this time of year,,,, can't wait to go visit maybe later this summer,,,yummm

I never eat raw oysters during the warmer months. Like someone else said its better practice to eat them during the months with an "r". As far as the shrimp, crabs, and fish go, I usually go to one of the local seafood markets.

R months? I thought that was for hurricanes.

The boats I am talking about are in south LA... I find them when I am fishing for specks and reds...

Several years ago after father-in laws Mississippi family reunion we bought 3 coolers fresh shrimp off the boat in Biloxi.
My family in our vehicle and in-laws and kids in their truck pulling a trailer headed home to Missouri.Close to St.Louis my brother-in-law was driving when 2 vehicles drag racing flew by each side of truck and trailer on the highway causing the rig to start swaying left and right until he lost control and the trailer flipped on it's side.
The trailer was destroyed along with the 3 coolers of shrimp.......Insurance company wanted to pay Biloxi prices and the father-in law wanted Mo. prices.Don't know how that came out.....What a waste of good shrimp...

If you were a team player you'd go ahead and pick up enough for all of us and cut the middle guy out. Just saying. I'm in for 10 lbs of shrimp. :)

I dunno about the shrimp and oysters, but I haven't paid for a sack of crawfish in years. If I start on a Thursday afternoon, by Friday evening at the latest, I can usually have a haul of red swamps and white rivers like this, easily 80 to 100 lbs (although this picture is a 200 + lb haul that I caught for a big party we were having)- for the price of gas to go run the traps!Attachment 267508
