Finally got into them
I was asked by a good friend to take him fishing. I could not refuse as this friend could not catch a fish if you threw it in the boat with him. Well I got here about three in the morning and he started loading up his favorite baits which included his lucky horse shoe. My friend does not believe in minners so I was hoping the banks would produce the grass hoppers and crickets we would need. I have never fished for crappie with these baits but he swears by them along with some green worms that can be found eating leaves in trees.
Well we got to the private pond and the wind was topping over twenty five miles per hour from the dead south. I took out my old Army trench tool and started digging a wind breaker into the side of the dam. We pulled out our B&M poles with 10lb test line on our Zebco reels, pulled those worms out ,attached to our wireless hooks and threw them into the wind. Brother those worms started catching crappie right off. The fished averaged about 2.5 lbs. a piece. We caught fish for four hours straight. Sorry there are no pics as I lost the camera in the strong wind.
I hope this helps some of you to fish outside the box and try new things.
