Went out to the Rez for either enjoyment on the water or for a supper fish fry this weekend with a friends. Saturday it's supposed to be bad weather so it will be a good time to eat em. Well I ended up with both. Fished along the channel at Green marker # . Well it was on the right hand side heading South and was an odd #. It was somewhere between the 43 bridge and marker#3. I know this is no help cause all the green markers are odd #'s and on the right. So I guess I'm trying to say (or not) say is exactly which one cause I plan to go again tomorrow. Will say they were 13 to 15 fow close to the bottom. Single poled with my BGJP 11'. Used 1/8 Arkie bloodline hooks and Mr. Crappie Joker chartreuse/black bodies. Tipped with some gummy Crappie nibbles. Water temp, well I don't know cause the depth finder on this boat is N/A. Wind was not too bad. Only keep 16. Most put a thump to it but a couple just put a resistance to the line. Threw back 6, lost 3 cause I didn't want to put up a calling card with boaters passing by. All in all had a great time and Saturday they will taste good.

Good looking mess of fish! Sounds like they bit the same for me as they did you. Some fish would bury the rod tip three eyes deep in the water but some, mostly the bigger ones, just seemed to grab it and hold on and something just looked odd about that particular rod tip. Would have been real easy to miss. Probably did not notice a few, myself. Those BGJP made a difference for me.

Only 4 keepers today. 3 throw backs. My pole had a miss in it to start off. 4 good thumps and nothing to show for it. Couldn't land the first one which probably was the biggest. Arm wasn't long enough. 4 feet of line out the end of a 11' pole, just couldn't get the net under her. The biggest was 14 1/2". Caught them the same place as yesterday. Same setup. Didn't stay there long. Wanted to check out another place which turned out sour. Had fun anyway.

Now I know your telling the truth! Again, I had the same experience. The fish would thump the ever living heck outa the rod leading me to snatch it up with such a fury that when, most surprisingly, there wasn't a fish on the other end, the lure continued into the air until the line was tight and the jig held steady 15' above me! I found that a crappie nibble helped the fish hold onto my jig longer.
