    Default water temps

hi fellas, went yesterday afternoon to a private lake (90 acres) that my family owns most of the damn. the owner is a lifelong friend of mine. the place went basically unfished for about 15 years so you can imagine whats in there, bass, bass, and more bass all about 1/2 to 1lbs. however i know there are big crappie in there. if seen em come out but i have never figured em out. last year i put out about 20 structure pods in various places. when i got there yesterday i was shocked to find water temp was 69 degress and the lake was down 4 feet for the owner to do some work on the dam. i was just rigged with wacky worms yesterday but do yall think the crappie could be spawing despite it being February.

Murdok...My 2 cents. I've caught bloody egg crappie from mid Feb thru Mid August. MANY variables to determine when they spawn. Some fish instinctively know not to spawn aggressively due to population of fish...or so I'm told. My advice...get after em every chance you get, take good notes, and give em heck.
