Default Best fishfinder for the money

Time to get a new one. What's the best for the money? I'm not looking to spend over 200. I'm looking at low end units. Saw bad reviews on the elite 3 and was curious about the hook3 and hook4? Any others to look at?

I understand what your saying, but your not going to get much with the budget you have. If you don't mind used units, you could possibly find a better unit used that you can afford. Various sites have classifieds like ours here, but the best for electronics is bass boat centrals forum classifieds. They have one just for electronics.
    Good luck.

Just keep a eye out on the classifieds and you can find a very nice used unit pretty cheap!

I'll keep a lookout for used units is there a model/brand I should stay away from being used? I'm a full time duck hunter/part time crappie fisherman. Everything fishing related comes off early November. Really just lookin for water temp and depth. Any leads on a good used unit is appreciated.

A Sonar 2D/Gps combo can be found used in that price range and is a good unit for the money.

For a beginning, first time unit, the Hook3 works very well. Of course the more you spend the more you get.

I put an elite 3x lowrance on back to mainly see depth/temp , but it's a pretty good little unit if you use a hand held gps like I do . I have a elite 5 hdi on the tm. it does it all fairly well but processor is slow on chartplotter . other than that it is a good unit and amazon has/had them for 200.00 . At one time they were 600.00 .Your best bet is to call Brian at BBG MARINE . (ON SITE SPONSOR) He will get you the best he can . I have bought several trolling motors(2) that wal-mart could not undersell as well as depth finders(3) .
