    Default Hummingbird ipliot upgrade

Guys Im wanting to upgrade trolling motor and electronics. I'm wanting to interlink/Ethernet front depth finder to the dash depth finder. I have just a cheap front depth finder at the time (plan on replacing) Also I'm wanting to upgrade trolling motor to ipliot. With all that being said what units would you recommend running both front and dash without breaking the bank. I will already be breaking the bank when I buy the ipliot. I am currently running a 997 bird w/lakemaster card at the helm. I would like to keep it but understand ipliot needs Ethernet cable to work/follow maps. I'm a pretty young guy my sight is still pretty good so I'm thinking running like a 7inch screen up front and 9 at the helm. With so many units on the market where do I start or should I say with limited budget where should I start. Sorry for long post. Thanks in advance

You are looking for an Ilink trolling motor, Ipilot will not hook to it. 899 or 859 would do nicely but you will also need the ethernet box, like 250 more to hook all 3 together. You can hook 2 things together without the box.

Thanks. I guess ilink is what I meant. Still new to all the terms but I guess y'all know what I meant. Just wanting to have two great units and a nice trolling motor to follow contour lines. Ha without breaking the bank. Probably sell the 997 I guess? It won't do me anygood will it if I upgrade? I do love that unit tho.

With all the new stuff hitting the market there will be some nice stuff at a fair price out there pretty quick.

You can find some good deals on some of the older core units still. I bought 2 ,899 about this time last year for under $600. a unit.

I would look at the new Gen2 Helix units if buying new. There should be a lot of used Helix units for sale soon, guys are moving up to the Gen2 for mega imaging. The only advise I would give is buy as big of screen as your budget allows. You won't be sorry later.

I'm moving up to the Solix 15 SI units so I was going to list 2 Onix 10's but sold them the day I decided to switch to the Solix units.

    Good Luck!

If you decide to search for used units don't forget to look at Bass Boat Central board classifieds as well as here. Lots of good information on all makes of fish finders there as well if you look under the dedicated threads for different makes of units.
