meridian lakes or creeks

im going back to visit meridian in a week i dont have a boat and looking for some catfish eating size and crappie i like fishing creeks mostly due to not having boat access if i have to fish okatibbee on the bank wheres the best spot?

I'd fish the tail race below the dam at Okatibbee.

yeah i probably will go next saturday sunday where exactly do you fish? and do you use jigs or minnows i prefer minnows but i use to have gar hit them as soon as they touch the water
