Made the trip to Arkabutla. stayed till almost lunch time, had 1 keeper and 4 throw backs. Talked to and saw 4 others fishing and they didn't have any luck. Used to catch some good fish there but the last several years its been tough. I tried spider rigging jigs and minnows and pulling cranks, I did catch the one 14" keeper on a crank. I am done with butla until it gets better in a few years. I am thinking its been fished out guys.

I think it is just this hot weather. I have had a tough summer catching crappie also. Maybe when it cools down some in October the crappie fishing will be better. Fishing for me is a win win situation as to say when I don't catch them I don't have to clean them and when I do catch them I get to eat em. Thanks for sharing the fishing report.
Be safe and good luck fishing![]()
For every good day on Butla, expect several really bad ones...She will humble the best man out there...But when it is good..it is real good..If you don't fish..you won't ever see the good..Scrat nailed it
Well I'm gonna get about 5 days worth of it next week, we will see.
