If you wrap your line around your poles they won't be swinging around,never has a treble hook in anyone in my boat yet.When you wrap you line you have to start in the middle of the pole so it wraps evenly on the pole[emoji2]

I leave mine on. I usually start the next day with the same colors that produced the best the day before. Sometimes that works, and sometimes adjustments are needed as you go along.

My boat is a tackle store, rod racks & pole holders, poles & rods "23", tackle storage, ECT. I take a few minutes before I come off the water and put up everything, wrap rod lines and put up all tackle. This includes all cranks. I to have had crank hooks removed. My 2cts

I do the same

We take 'em off all of the time, whether we're crappie, walleye or salmon fishing. Keeps the rods from getting
beat up with some of the rough rides home. Also a BIG safety factor! Read "ARMYMAN's" post

Thanks for the replies. I think I will be safer taking them off. I got me some bigger snaps that work easier with my hands. The grandkids get in the boat sometimes in my shop, so taking off will be the best.
