New poster on the board.
Figured I'd read all I could and decided to wet a line.
The lake levels are as high as I've ever seen them. Packed my waders with high hopes of wading. I fished the eve of the 9th, and morning of the 10th. Waded were I could, and "bank" fishing didn't allow much in many of the creeks. Many of those I spoke to just commented the search was high this year with not many 12" fish. I didn't get a nibble in 5 hours of trying.
Some boaters I talked to at the landing caught a few. Some none.
Anyway, if your wading be careful! Backwater has added new fishing structure but the hazards of deep creeks aren't seen well. Feel around with your feet!

We fished the same two days, it was tough for us as well. Caught a few shorts Saturday, and a couple keepers today before the wind got to 15 mph or more.
Is the spawn over?
It's CRAPPIE season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wear a life jacket or inflatable. I read somewhere that most drownings occur in 5' or less of water. With waders on they sometimes catch air in the feet when you fall, floating up and making it impossible to stand.
