    Default B'nM Replacement Tips

Anybody ever order replacement tips from B'nM?

I've got a PST 14' rod that got broken this morning. Big ole crappie broke the tip and the middle section. I'm wondering if I can replace both of that pieces or if I have to just buy a new pole. The website says "replacement tip" which is pretty clearly one piece, the tip. But it's $21.00 bucks and that's pretty steep for a tip.

So anybody ever order replacement parts from them? Did you get just a tip? How do I go about getting the middle section, if it's possible?

I think you can get one from Grizzly for about $16

I think if you've broken both of the top two sections, you might want to give BnM a call ... and ask to speak to Jack Wells (accept no one else). Tell him what happened and see if he will replace the two sections for free (or maybe send you both sections for the price of the tip) ??

Jack is a member here, so tell him you are also a member of Crappie.com !! BnM is also a big site sponsor & supporter.

Hey, the phone call is free ... so you won't be out anything if the answer is "sorry, but no dice". And don't talk to any of the CS reps .... they can't deal with you (it's their job not to). Only speak to Jack, even if you have to call several times to get through to him. He's the owner, so he can wheel/deal all he wants !!

Thanks fellows for the help. I'll check in on the free replacement (always my first option) and go from there.

Speck, thanks a bundle. Let me check with the folks at B'nM and if I need one from Grizzly I'll try to catch you before you head down. Thanks a bunch for the offer. Saving on shipping is always a pleasure.

Just for informations sake. Grizzly has a program where if they stock a tip for a rod they will sell you the section below the tip less the price of the tip. I know this works because they sold me a but section on a 12 ft PST. Don't know how they would handle that on a 3 piece but might be worth a call if B&M dosn't work out.

I broke the second section of a B&M 16' telescopic rod. The replacement would be $38 for a $12 rod.
First I was told you couldn't replace it because the line guide was made on each section. I had already removed the guide. I cleaned up both pieces and slid the top piece up through the bottom piece and glued it together and glued the guide back on for a 15' rod.
For broken tips I have a collection of top guides. Just find the closest one that fits.

That's what I decided to do with it too. I can rig just about anything to save a buck.

Last night at the auction there was a Shakespeare 9' spin combo retail $40, sale $33 that sold for $37 plus 10%. I stopped bidding at $15. When I was checking out I saw a rod in the back of check-out. I asked the owner about it, his wife said the buyer said it was bought broke and returned it. The rod was broke at the seat, it wasn't before.
I got it for $5, I'll go through my old rods and repair it later.
