Be careful and carry a 6 ft walking/wading safety stick you can check water depth and pull out of Mudd while stuck!! Its a lot more work than it looks and dangerous if you don't be safe!!

That's right boys, Snubbys has bought himself a fancy pair of waders.I have had some marginal luck with bank fishing here lately and don't feel like putting the boat in solo today so I'm going to try it out. Second day this week I've taken off at noon and I'm gonna skip work all together Friday, good thing I sign my own paycheck or I might be broke by next week

Thanks sharphook for the tip, where I'm going it has a gravel bottom mostly. I will make sure I carry a stick to check where I'm stepping and to get myself out of the mud if I get stuck.. I understand wading is very dangerous, you go in a hole and those waders fill up then you can cancel Xmas..

Take it from a old man who has made most mistakes you can. When going by yourself wear your life jacket. Maybe a little uncomfortable but the alternative sucks.
Thanks cray, I thought about that and will do. I went to my first spot it's real secluded was a few unsavory types back there drinking and drugging by the way it appeared, they sho wasn't there to fish. So I decided to scout somewheres else, ain't no use getting my truck broke into or worse a gun battle while looking for a spot to wade..
That's for sure. Did that on upper end of Butla a couple of years ago. To old for any nonsense.

Well caught one 14" keeper had several bites (real soft). Apparently you can't fish off the bank or wade in campground areas unless you are camping or a guest.. I did not know this. Mr. Park Ranger run me out of there. Only got to jig 5-6 trees prior to my getting evicted. I told him I give him twenty bucks to stick around and hit the other 100 trees. Says I would have to have at least a tent setup. It's okay I go back by boat if I feel the need. Found another spot should be good if the water drops a few feet. I could get used to wading, it's a blast. Only complaint I could think of is the pressure or suction on the base of my toes while in the water. I can deal with it though for some live action :-)
You need to take your waders back and get some that are tight on your feet. Won't have that suction feel anymore. Also you will be able to maneuver in mud better because of the tight fit.
I bought one size smaller than my usual shoe or boot size.. I'm normally a 13 and went with a size 12. They fit pretty tight, my problem may be I'm 6'4" and 275#.. lol. And I move thru the mud fairly well. They been used now, doubt they want them back smelling like swamp... :-)
