I caught a few north of 304 this morning whilst looking for crappie.. little guys. But I witnessed a few bigguns rolling on top feeding.. trot line guys said they didn't bite last night on the lake. They should have went north towards the creek.. it's full of them and they seemed hungry.
Glad to see the rain and high water for the spawn at Butla. May save lots of crappie lives. [emoji4]
237.29 it's about to go over.. at least no rain forecast until Thursday this week. Maybe Butla can hold it, but still a lot of water flowing in.
Still a lot of water running off my hill. Been digging a new trench for the water to flow so I can save the new garden spot.
Hey 51 coldwater bridge closed for 2 years

For those that have been wondering about the bridge across the Coldwater River on Hwy. 51 south of Hernando:
The bridge and levee roadway across the bottoms were already scheduled for replacement this year. Since the flood and the damage to the bridge it was shut down for safety reasons and the project is being expedited by MDOT to hopefully start on rebuilding them in May. That's the good news.
The bad news is that it will be shut down for approx two years while it is all rebuilt. There will not be an alternate temporary route due to the wetlands around this project. Please make plans to use the interstate instead of 51 to travel between Hernando and Senatobia for the foreseeable future.
