    Default Pickwick Gurus?

The wife and I want to go to Pickwick sometime this spring, do a little camping and try to snag a fish or 50. Years ago when I was a kid (many years ago), my uncle always fished out of Eastport. Can any of you guys that fish Pickwick a lot give me some recommendations on camping and fishing during the spring?

Look for the groups of side trollers they will usually be on the fish.

The Eastport/mill creek area is more suited for trolling techniques. The yellow creek area sets up good for both trolling and single poling. What time of year specifically are you shooting for?

    You said camping, what kind?
I called Eastport and Mills creek a few years ago for a tent site. Nope, they are resorts and the trailer sites are long term rentals. I could have rented a cabin at Mills creek, but they didn't mention it.
J P Coleman and Pickwick Landing would be closest to the water for camper or tent.
There's a campground east of the waterway and north of hwy 72, don't know it name.

We have a travel trailer. I think I'm going to Piney Grove on Bay Springs and travel to Pickwick. Piney Grove is a nice campground, we've stayed there quite a bit.

We've stayed there a couple of times and like it. Need to stay on the lake longer to learn where the crappie are.

HA!! I know the general vicinity, but can't catch 'em. We have a trip there the second week of May for a few days in the middle of the week. I hope to find some good spots then.
