I'm all for putting out stake beds and any other structure. Hat's off to all that do. I'm also all for helping out anyone new to the lake or new to fishing. Don't believe I'll change on either. And also, no offense intended to anyone.

Nothing sux much worse than driving a long way and getting skunked. I put my last one out when folks started burning them in the winter when the water was down. Going to put some stuff in at winter pool this winter though, it'll be wet all the time and they cant burn that.
What part of asking politely for someone to give a few suggestions caused somebody to get weeds caught in their trolling motor. I Said I have fished it twice and live 2 plus hours away. The lake is nice but so far I haven't found but just a few nice folks who fish there. It's not anybody's lake. It's everybody's lake. And starting a sentence with no offense is just a cheap way of being offensive.
I always thought stake beds Were honey holes. SMH!!!!
Im sensitive my feelings get hurt all the time and no one seems to care. I say if you want stake beds show up for the habitat day they have usually in February and help build some they supply you with all the material all they ask is for you to do the work and dont give the excuse that you live 2 hours away, If you can find time to fish you surely can find time to build them if you plan on fishing the lake
I along with about 30 friends with 4 wheelers worked every habitat day on grenada for 10yrs, one yr we put out 3000 cedar tops by noon, poor convicts tieing the weights to them couldn't catch up. so, I believe I have done my fair share.
C: No i did not get my feelings hurt. I just dont understand someone using my thread to take out their frustrations of others not "doing their part" as you call it. I am not a Taker, I am a maker. I love to fish in a variety of lakes and mostly practice a lot of catch and release because my family doesnt care for crappie like i do. Like i said saying no offense is just a underhanded way of being offensive.
Slabin: Never heard of Habitat day, but how could I have since I'm not a member of the Grenada Clique. I just asked a question about some general information. Friendly people would have attempted to be educational and told me about habitat day and how i could participate. But instead now I hear "dont make the 2 hours away an excuse" Never did.
Dont need this kind of headache from folks that i dont even know
I'll just keep to myself.
Jim, I know noting much about Grenada so can't help there. On Habitat day, the Corps usually has one on each of the big four as Slabin said, usually in Feb. they will furnish Christmas trees and weight blocks and sometimes stakes. They ask volunteers with ATV's and trailers to participate by dragging or hauling these to spots to set out. Really only requirement is the willingness to get out and work some. Fun times and they usually furnish a lunch. Good way to meet guys you would not otherwise meet and help the fishery at the same time. MDWF usually publishes dates on their website starting in Dec or Jan.
Thanks cray.
I will keep an eye out for the day and try to be able to come in make my own habitat
