This year has been a tough one for patterning crappie. First the weather was cold to hot to cold and windy to windier and rain rain rain. Only in Mississippi can we have 4 seasons in one week. Crappie didn't know from one day to the other wheather to spawn or go deep again. I keep a log from one year to the other trying to figure the crappie out and this years I have not been able to make heads nor tails of what when why or where. I have read a lot of different post on crappie in Mississippi and everyone is having a rough crappie year so far. Maybe the summer time will bring better fishing.:dono That is if it doesn't snow in June and July.
scrat,,,, from what I'm hearing from most is that the fish this year is no longer on the same side of the lake s usual,,, They went from Clear Creek last year to Holiday side this year,,, East to west,,,North to south type of movement,,,If you think about it,,,, The winds once again have changed and with that... It may be too late for the crappie to move seeing most are spawning right now so they will stay put until it's over,, So maybe it's just time to try places where most haven't fished before,,,, This is only my second year chasing these evil fish, but it's not too far fetched to believe they are creatures of climate rather then habit,,,
they was def in clear creek last year fo sho!!! not sure where they be at now...i found them one day in another location and went back next day only to catch 2
Just do what you think you ought not to do and everything will be alright,,,lol
