That's awesome! Now for my newbie question. How are you using a jig pole? Are you trolling through the stems and slowly working the jig up and down without a cork? Are you going through the stems with the boat or just along the edge? Seems like you would be real close to the fish, how do you not spook them? I have an old telescoping pole in my garage that my dad gave me with no reel, could this be a jig pole?

ALL of the above. LOL Some WAY back in the grass and some in the stems. I personally like to put a pole in each hand with a tiny cork, just enough of a cork that it won;t sink. I can take my eye off it for a second that way and my bait will be in the same spot I left it

Nice going Sammy. Glad yall had a great day on the water!

Braden we were using jigs with no cork, easing thru the stems real slow, swimming the jig between pads, thats where most of the fish came from was when we were swimming the jig, I always fish between visible structure very methodically, that the places that most people pass up just because they cant see em, as for spooking them, just stay off the trolling motor as much as you can and try not to prop wash in front of you where you are going to fish, using 11 foot Sam Heaton jig poles

Here is a pic of the jig we were using, it's a mid south jig, Ken I put 5 in the boat and made my partner change his pink head and orange tube, so color did make a bit of a difference Sunday anyway Attachment 199686

Thanks, very informative. I definitely was not doing anything remotely like that. That's might explain why we did not catch a fish, lol.

Braden, do not try and get too technical in your first try's at this. Like GDG said, use one pole and concentrate on working that one jig.
