Are there some opportunities there. Is it protected from wind. If so, will take boat.

I've never waded it. There is plenty of water that can be waded there, and I've seen many folks doing it. It is plenty shallow in most places. I have a 14' jon boat that I take out there, and I've only once had to move myself out of the wind. If you want to fish there, you should be able to do fine wading or with your boat. I can't say that you'll catch anything, but fishing you can do.
