    Default mississippi boaters safety course???

looking to make a trip to grenada in early march.. i read in the boating regulations if you were born after 1980 you must possess the boaters safety course certification.. I live in kentucky and its not a requirement.. how strict are they on these laws?? Ill be fishing with my dad, i own the boat but will it be legal for him to operate the boat on our trip with him being born before 1980??? any help with this would be greatly appreciated!!

I have only been checked for my boaters safety while operating a jet ski, most of the time I dont think they check much into the fishing boats. I think you will be fine especially if your dad operates the boat...just my opinion, others may have a different view on it. If i were you I wouldnt stress to much over it

I believe if you are under the supervision of someone who qualifies you should be ok as well. It's only an online course

Take the course. It's free! And very informational. Lots of folks on here may not be required to take it but they need to. I got a ticket for not having one so I took the course and they took the ticket back. I had never even heard of such a thing up until that point. Good luck on your trip
