Joe you coming from Iowa?

All,
I am researching a trip to MS from 3/15-3/20 with my wife for some crappie action and to celebrate my 40th birthday. We are both capable and experienced IA fishermen, and are looking for some warm weather, tight lines, and relaxation. I know there are a host of options, and we would be leaning more towards a full service operation with massage and spa amenities on this trip. If things go well we may return for a self-guided DIY adventure.
A few questions:
How warm is it in MS mid-March?
What stage of the spawn would be occurring at this time?
Is there any limit on how many fillets we can bring home?
We will be driving down and it looks to be around 8-900 miles. However, with gas around $2 it is way cheaper than flying.
Thank you in advance guys, and for serious inquires or offers can you please send me a PM?
Take care,
Joe

It's kind of hit and miss that time of year. I would try grenada and Enid. Could be 70 or it could be 30. Could have no rain the week before or 8" of rain. Could have light and calm winds or 15mph with 30 mph gust. Lake level could be low with a slight rise or too high and there draining the lake. All these factors make it tough to give you a solid answer so take them and watch the weather before you leave and you will have a good idea of what to expect. Hope this helps you out. It was 7 degrees 2 weeks ago and it's 65 right now in Grenada. That's what Iam talking about.

I don't know of that. May get a motel room in Batesville or Grenada with a hot tub.
Sardis, Enid and Grenada have cabins for about $80 per night. Cook your own meals and be close to the lake.
That week will be a week late for our spring camp n fish at Grenada
Your allowed 7 daily limits each so that would be 14 limits for you and your wife to transport. Have to prove you fished 7 days though. Also should be prespawn to spawn mode. That's give or take a week. Weather is factor. Also water temp needs to be 58 and rising. There are bed and breakfast lodges in oxford and salons and spas to fit your needs. Some fine restaurants as well. I wouldn't stay any where else. Carl painter,John woods,John Harrison should put you on the fish. I would call them ASAP.
Can somebody post contact info for the cabins by Grenada?
If I were you I'd come down and get one of the recommended guides, get one of the little country cottages, bring a couple of 0 gravity chairs to sit out back to reminisce where you've been and where you hope to go. At 40 years old, y'all should be able to handle the message on your own.
Tell'em I'll be there.
