    Default Winter Fishing

I am taking a 10 day vacation starting next week. I would like to take a break from all the hunting I have been doing and go for my first real wintertime crappie trip. I would like to know what technique I should use. Slow trolling, vertical jigging, spider rigging etc. Approx water depths I should look for. And which lake is typically a good producing crappie this time of year. I am clueless about winter fishing, assume I know nothing. Thanx in advance for any help!

If ya think you're going slow, slow down some more. At times you almost have to sit still to get a bite when it's real cold.

I like single poling slow on brush this time of year. Sometimes I will side pull, just according to what the fish are doing.

Was thinkin grenada. Or sardis, or enid. Doesnt really matter, but i think i would really love to start winter fishing. No nothing about it, but i hunt so much and successful at that. So its hard for me to leave a guarenteed thing with my limited time off for something i know nothing about. So i dont wanna just throw a hook in the water in the cold and not catch one based on my winter ignorance. I may just b fishing totally wrong not know it, and think winter fishing is no good and back to the woods i go. Wife wants me to really use my boat i just bought back in march too lol. I dont have a problem getting skunked at all if thats how this message sounds. But i do want to know that fish can be caught if i knew what i was doing.
