Default Tuesday on the Rez -

It's a beautiful morning on the Rez! I am set up above 43, the fish are scattered but cooperating. Caught fish so far from 10' deep up in 2' all in about 12' or water.

How thick are the shad? They should start to head that way

4 more in the boat. The shad are popping on the surface all around Brad, I moved up a creek channel and they are thick as fleas on the surface. Some dense schoolers were forming in the main river channel.

Threw the cast net and caught about 200 shad all 1.5 to 2" long. They seem to love em on the hook!

Yes indeed. Ended the day with about 30 or so and missed probably that many more. Had the boat on the trailer by 1. All but a few of them were 8-12", only had about 4 over 14". Lots of schools of small crappie in the creek channels leading into the main river channel, caught all the bigger ones in the main channel. I wish I could have got on a good pattern for the biguns' but had a blast none the less. It was a great day to be out on the water.

Beware! The shad schools running on the surface were loaded with hybrid stripers and they can tie a knot better than any slimer.
