    Default Any Crankin' Rez Reports?

    Thanks.

I do not have much report. I went late Saturday afternoon. Caught 1 gar (about 3 feet ) and lost the crank bait. I lost a crank bait to a stump and retrieved another. It was windy and choppy. Still, it was great to be on the water.

I also enjoy just being on the water, sorry you had a bad day. It happens to everyone but few admit it here on the forum.

Went a couple weeks ago and thanks to the big motor croaking, we fished from the 43 bridge to the big left turn going Northeast. LOTS of catfish and no crappie

I've seen some reports online of fish holding in the pads. Have no clue how true that is, but with some of the weather we're having they may not be where they usually are. But I don't know the lake at all so all this is hearsay and speculation!

Went out with my bro. in law sat. 27th, pulled 300's from 6:30 am till noon. Started at the s-curves between fannin landing and twin harbors, worked that area for close to two hrs., then zig zagged the river channel all the way to roses bluff and past. Weren't properly set up for crappie, using stiff rods and the center console was too fast on motor.....slow as we could go was in the 3mph + range so we did a lot of zig zagging to slow down the baits. We were only pulling 4 baits. (one Norman deep lil N (chart. blue back), 3 300's,(pink/black back, shad, white/orange back). Not a single fish ! Went back late same evening from 6:30 till near dark and pulled over the s-curves some more. Still nothing... Were hoping to see some striper feeding action on the surface somewhere but that didn't happen. Came home with nothing but empty wallets from the fuel we burned.
Went out this past Sunday afternoon in my little duracraft and pulled 4 rods ( softer rods for crappie) with bandit 300's and one deep N around the roses bluff area for about an hour and a half until we saw lightning and packed it in. Still no sign of crappie or stripers. It's getting a little disappointing trying to fish this reservoir. Starting to really miss living in N. Miss. with close access to Grenada and Enid. I can't go everyday to learn this res., and can't afford the fancy GPS units with all the bells and whistles. I just want to have a little fishing fun in my later years but can't seem to make it happen. PS..... If anyone sees any striper feeding action going on late in the evenings please drop me a pm..... I want to catch just one of those things !!!!!

Find Paul Johnson or get his number and call him. He has prob forgotten more about pulling cranks on the Rez than anybody knows. From what I have read and what folks say he catches them yr round down there.

I haven't done a bunch of crappie fishing lately since all the kids want to do is wakeboard. I do turn on my GPS unit and fish finder while we're out boarding, though. Most of the "cranking depth" water I've seen is barely 80 degrees and I haven't marked many concentrations of fish. Maybe there's something to the pads report.

I pulled cranks Friday morning kept 17. They are in the same spots as always. Pulling 300's 12' deep.
