Dont have the rail but did plan on multiple quick connect bases. Heck of a boat

Do a google search for articles written by Roger Gant. He has perfected side PULLING to a fine art. Can't imagine why you would want to push from the side and intentionally put the boat directly over your bait which contradicts the reason for using long poles unless you usually fish very deep. Even when I push cranks with multiple poles off the front they are still slightly to the side allowing the crank to run beside the boat and not over it. Good luck.

I have a 14' aluminum boat set-up for side PUSHING. Mine is setup this way for shallow water fishing. We do this because it makes it like 2 people in the front of the boat (where there is not room for 2 people in the front of this boat) but we are covering a wider span since our seats are about 7' apart. With 16' poles we can basically cover a 42' wide path. I am no expert at it but feel free to give me a call if you have any special questions.

Do you have a trolling motor on each end to control it's path or do you try to drift square with the wind?

I have the trolling motor mounted on the side the same as the guys side PULLING. Controlling the boat gets a little tricky and you will have to experiment with were the trolling motor needs to be placed and it will differ if you have one end of the boat weighted more than the other. I use my tiller motor to help some in the tracking of the boat. By turning it some it catches water different and make the difference in tracking. I also use a windsock and placement of this has to be played with also. The sock creates more drag up front and if I want to turn around, I can pull in the drift sock and turn the boat around and head back the other way. The windier it gets, the bigger pain it becomes but it works great for me in our shallower more protected sloughs.
