    Question Long Lining

I know this probably has been discussed on here before, but does anyone has a pic or diagram of the best way to tie a double jig rig for long liking??

Easiest thing for me is to thread both rigs on you line, heavier one last if using different sizes. Tie the last one with a loop knot about 2 inches long. Drop that one to the floor and about waist hi tie the other one in about a 5 inch loop knot.

Im no pro but the heavier jig works better for me going on first. It pulls the lighter jig up to a different depth. jmo

I seldom pull two jigs on one line here because of the whites and hybrids, it's hard enough getting the tangles out with just one hook on. When I do I use the loop knot like Reese stated earlier.

I agree on just running the two jigs with loop knots on the main line. I also agree if using different weight jig heads then always the heaviest being the top or closest to the rod tip. Large loop knots sound good and I tried it, but hold the jigs over the side of the boat and look at how they run. A longer loop knot will let the front jig ride back towards the main line enough for the hook to tangle if using the same weight heads. I will tie the top/first loop knot with 5 or more loops to make the line stand more at a 90 off the main line to help keep them separated. I try to always use a combination of heavier/lighter heads to cover more of the water column even if it is only 1 to 2 feet of difference. That 1 to 2 feet some times is crucial. If you still want to go heavier with out buying more bigger jig heads, buy some split shot in various sizes but do not use the ones with the ears for removing them. It will cause line twist. Add the split shot in front of the jig head closest to the rod tip.
