Here is where you can contact a biologist. Not many of them hang around here. I hope this helps.

I was told yesterday there was biologist going around to every boat on the big three and asking questions about how many fish they had, how many times they have been fishing, how long they fished ect. What the man told me was they were talking about cutting limits, and that could have been for Enid and Grenada.
The above could be just rumor, I hope it is.
1. I have also heard that on Enid, that 50 % of the crappie go out the outlet channel when they are letting water go. Is this true?
2. I would also like to know what is the percentage of crappie are caught by fishermen each year?
3. And last, I was told the fishing each year depends on the spawn 5 years ago cause it took about 5 years for a spawn fish to reach 12 inches. So if that is true and say spawning season wasn't great at Enid, then in 2009 was there a bad spawn, weather, water level fluctuations?
I don't get on here much, but these are some questions I would like answered, if there is a biologist on here I would like to hear from them and from the guys that are there each day and I'm sure we have some that keep records from year to year.
Thanks
It's CRAPPIE season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am give that a try, but what is your educated guess on these three things?
It's CRAPPIE season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know for a fact #2 is 100%! Water fleas don't catch none of em! We've got 7 of the top 25 fisheries in the nation, obviously our biologist know a lil something. And quit beating a dead horse!!!!!
They been doing these serveys for years, nothing new. New digest comes out real soon, if they make changes it will most likely be next year. Keith actually did my survey on Enid Sunday before last and another guy the following Wed.

If it does change its in the best interest of the fishery, and we will either follow it, get a ticket for not following, or quit fishing. Speculation gets us nowhere
I fished Enid four days last week. I caught 9-20-10-4. I didn't throw back but one next years fish. He was just short of 12 1/4 and going on ice so I put him back. Regardless why they aren't there, the pickings look very slim for next year and maybe this fall even. When we run out of 13 to 14" fish we are going to be out of business for a few seasons. The jig pole fishermen, that found some good beds, were the only ones that had to worry about catching a limit. The numbers are down but not as far as they are going to be.
Tell'em I'll be there.
If they are so worried about the fish they need to stop letting them out the spillway! There must be some way to put a barrier up to keep them in.

I fished Enid 4 days in the last 2 weeks and caught plenty of short fish, prolly twice as many as I had keepers.
