    Default Sardis Information

Fished Sardis all day on Friday and Saturday. Hit the ramp at 1st light and worked the shoreline by the dam. The spawn has to be in full swing right?.....It isn't, caught a few fish very early shallow but they were males and a few largemouth bass. Backed off the dam and started working water in the 7 to 12 foot range spider rigging. That was the ticket, every female we caught slammed the minnows and were full of eggs but none were bloody. I would say the spawn is still another week out yet by the dam. Here is a few of our limit:

What was the water temp down by the dam? There are lots of fish in the lake but the largest concentration of fish are on the east end of the lake 13 plus miles from where u guys were and the spawn has been wide open up there for a while. Congrats on your catch. Looks like u guys had a good day.

The water is cooler by 4-5 degrees by the dam, but those females you're holding were a lot bigger in the belly a few weeks ago. Seems like to me the bigger females are closer to done than the 12.5-14" fish are.

Very interesting post. I have never heard of someone looking for spawning fish at the dam. Just goes to show that Sardis lake is full of fish.

Local bank fishermen have caught spawning crappie from the earthquake dam and Beach Point ramp area for years. They apparently spawn in the dam rip rap.

They lay on the entire shoreline.
