Last time I did that it cost me $200 to get out.
Bought a four wheeler with a winch.
Your pretty much wasting your time a nader now. The low water level the last 2 years messed up the span and lots of bigger fish have been taken out of the lake. This lake has taken a majot hit and its gonna be on a down cycle for 3-5 years. I been fishing it all my life (71 years old) and every 10 years or so its takes a hit. Go to Sardis before its cleaned out. They are catching limits there now and have been for 10 weeks.
Not sure what low water you are talking about last year because it wasn't, 2 years ago yes, didn't hit 208 till Oct that year. I do agree with you that it lost a spawn or two and is hurting, glad Enid is just as close for me.
Man I gotta try that wading one day. Never done it but hear a lot of folks talk about it
Fished yesterday and had waders in the boat with me but never used them. I was already fishing everywhere the folks who were wading. So I didn't see the need. I know they have their place but if I can sit in my boat and fish the same spot, that's what I'm gonna do.
I have fished Sardis all my life and i don't see how there can be any crappie left in the lake. it has to take a hit as other guy is talking about Grenada. There is no reasoning with anybody on these topics, but I sure have not heard of many fish coming from grenada this year. I am headed to Enid myself as soon as it is time to pull cranks.
Maybe if people didn't feel the need to get on the internet and brag about how many they caught, it wouldn't be as bad on the lakes anymore. I've been fishing Sardis for 25 years and it gets worse and worse every year. The internet and cell phones are making everything crowded. I think the lakes can handle the pressure, but the quality of the fish seems to have went down. Haven't caught a 17" fish in several years now.
Lot of guys feel 'obligated' to catch a limit. I drive from Mo. and generally quit at 12ish. Just glad to be able to share the wonders of Enid.
