Saturday was ridiculous at Sardis. My Dad and I only kept 12, only wanted enough for a couple messes. Threw back plenty. I've already put up enough for my family to eat this fall and winter while I'm hunting instead of fishing. From this point on I'll only keep no more than 10. I don't sell fish and I give very few away.
Fish in Sardis are bigger than they were 10 years ago, and I think it was due to the change in the size limit. I kinda wish they'd go back to 12" though, but stay at 15 fish. That's plenty. 15 fish will feed my family 3 times. 10 limits a year lets us eat fish every other week for the year. Only thing I might would suggest is maybe 10 fish over 12" and 5 fish any size. I like to fry some whole every so often and it hard to cook a 12" fish whole. Also you'll catch one every now and then that's gill hooked that you know is going to die, but you have to throw it back cause it's short. Just my opinion.
Would like to see a single pole rule from January 1st to May 1st, then use as many as you want.

Kinda miss seeing those pontoons out there with 50 poles all around. Lol. Was funny when they'd go through a wad of stripes. Now that's a mess.

I don't understand one fisherman wanting to take anything away from another fisherman???? If you are gonna close fishing to a troller why not just close it completely, very selfish to want to take away anyone elses privileges.

Yea I'd restrict durning pre spawn and spawn, but I'm all for you having as many rods as you want the other 8 months of the year.

You can still troll durning Jan-April. Just with one pole.

I like the idea of regulations that would allow us to keep some small ones.

They tried that and it didn't work, from what they told Flanger, Major, and myself in Jackson last year. There is a lake fairly close to you that needs crappie taken out of it, no telling how many you can catch in a days time, no size limit.

    Default Sardis Rumor

Let's outlaw single poling during the spawn and outlaw trolling all year, except during the spawn. That way nobody will catch many. The fish will overpopulate, and become Yankee sized fish.

You guys must be crazy. Go Fishin and Chill Out on having a season for this and a season for that. To many regulations as it is now!!!!! I guess we should have a guiding season too. Crazy!!! Let the REAL biologist figure it out, this subject is getting old!!!!!

This thread went wild in all directions. I still say when the wind gets up at Sardis, better tie yo skirt down or yo panties are going to show.
