    Default Thoughts on Sardis after this rain?


    I'm going to Sardis tomorrow. I was there last Thursday and the water was low with a 58 degree temp. It's raining pretty good today so I don't know what to think about the conditions.

    Any thoughts on how to fish Sardis after a wall of thunderstorms like this? They're calling for 3/4's to an inch of rain tonight.

    Takes a day for runoff to start showing up. When it does go west of it. Stay away from mud line.

    Both. Depends on how fast rain falls and how much. Look like 1.5" of rain coming over next 24 hours. Should show up Saturday. We just got a good soaking. I will be there at daylight to give it a try.

    We fished Sardis yesterday water temp was 53-54 degrees.

    Wow…that cooled off a bunch in a week. I was down there last Thursday and it was 58. I guess the cold snap and the rain knocked it back a bit. I'm guessing the fish will move a little deeper?

    I plan on getting down there around 11 and fishing til dark. I ought to be able to find a few in that time…then again…I've fished longer and struck out.

    little rain won't hurt fish. they already wet. usually those temps are surface temps and the sun being out makes a big difference. I doubt the overall lake temp changed much.

    Bill,

    Last week I caught some on timbered flats in 6 FOW. Think they'll still be in that type of position? Will they be tight to cover? Moved deeper?

    Just trying to find the best type of place to start looking. Would like to break my current record of 4 crappie caught on a single trip.
