Thread: Mcc adventure

BRM asked lil bit and I if we would fish with him on Saturdays mcc tourney. I made sure he knew lil bit was gonna man her own set of rods and we could swap out fishing. The trip was set then.

Friday morning approached and I made the drive to lake Washington to meet up with BRM. We launched his big blue boat and off we went. We fished deep and far to find some fish. BRM even let me drive big blue until I got a big wind sock in the motor and we had to cut his harness free and get assistance from another boater lol. With our game plan set, I left back for Arkansas to pick up lil bit.

Lil bit and I made it for the Friday night meet and great where we met a few folks and traded stories with meatgetter.

We left Roy's store and went to southern star where we got ready for the morning fishing trip at our cabin. After we laid down for the night, both of our minds couldn't rest as we visioned big Washington slabs dancing on our poles causing us a sleepless night.

Saturday morning seemed to arrive after countless awakenings thoughout the night. We got some goodies from bait n things and met sat doc and torch. We helped BRM get the boat in the water and eased across the lake in the dark. The early morning air was chilly and the fog loomed around us. Time came to drop the spider legs out and the game was on. The fish were slow biting for us so we decided to make a move. when we arrived to our second destination I was concerned as there wasn't a boat around. We fished hard and plucked a few nice fish out for our creel. We gave up on this spot as we knew we were in the wrong place so of we were again.

After another short ride we laid out the spider again. . BRM ran the boat from the back and was an excellent net man while lil bit and I manned the poles. Lil bit was a trouper staying on the rods all day. The last hour BRM and I swapped out and I got to relax in the back playing net man.

The 3pm deadline neared as we fished by meathead .

We loaded the boat and packed up our cabin and headed for the weigh in. We didn't finish in the too teams but we had a great time. The mcc board was nice enough to give lil bit a rod for fishing which she was excited about. Meathead was lucky enough to win the $50 drawing prize.

We have decided that anyone willing to have us as a partner sometime give is a shout. BRM held his cool and watched his pees and ques with lil bit in the boat when we lost some good fish. Thanks for a good time and we will keep improving.

What I learned on this tourney was friends are friends before and after the tourney but not during. Don't run the big motor with a wind sock on the edge of the boat as the motor will eat it up when it flies out of the boat. When you are fishing by your self and there are no boats around you, you are in the wrong location and better move. No one is going to fish Friday where they plan to fish on Saturday.
