Dee, you hit the nail on the head. Someone from out of town will spend more in one trip to Grenada than I will in 5, maybe more.

I agree, but I would ask for a 10-11 inch slot. Reason being is that Barnett has so much spawning area in it their is hardly ever an off year for the spawn. Barnett is a complicated lake to fish, you have the main lake, the submerged oxbows in the main lake, the river channel in the main lake, the upper river area and oxbows. 2 causeways and 2 bottle necks. Deep timber, shallow timber, grass, and brush. Current and non existant current. I can put 3-4 good fishermen out at any given time and they can come back with a decent catch each on a different pattern.
Well I am now a Chevy man, love it! As for as dogs and other critters they are ok for other folks, but if it doesn't drink gas I don't want it.
A size limit would most likely hurt the Rez, over populate real quick if you started making folks throw back a ten inch fish. Just my 2 cents worth but that lake ALWAYS has a good spawn.
If they'd do what Washington does with a 10 inch min and you can keep 5 under 10 inches,. no one would throw a hissy fit over a size limit. John, barnett does have some bad spawns from time to time. Not as bad as the COE lakes but it does have them. I'm curious what affect this raising the winter pool by a foots gonna do. It's gonna change up the spawning habits to a point. Usually, It's towards the tail end of the spawn before the water rises where they get in the grass so we have alot of crappie that spawn out in 6-8 FOW. Grass that was usually in to shallow of water is now gonna be in 1 1/2 to 2 FOW. Glad I bought that flat bottom boat so I can get back in there now cause AIN'T NO WAY I'm wading LOL
Scared of the gators ? Well i am learning as i go here and barnett is a hard lake to figure sometimes . Last year i was still catching crappie in 18" of water the end of may . It was just unreal last spring . It is hard for someone like me to figure them out . My best trait is i just won't give up . They're good fish and lots of small fish . . Gotta love it . And gdg if i would fish up at grenada more i would probably agree . Only been a few times .
Yeh thump, We were catching the fool out of them in shallow water last year. I really caught alot of 1 1/2 fish last year
I'll agree about Barnett being the most diverse lake around. I'll even say it might wen have the most crappies. I just believe it falls behind on having a lot of BIG crappie. Surely a MLL would help.
