Hello: I will be at Sardis the middle of March, never been to the area before, just wondering what techniques to use. Such as spider rigging, trolling crank baits, dippin and jigging, casting in shallows. Do you use one method more at that time of year ? Good Luck this season O - R

Never cranked in march. The rest will work. You got 2 challenges. 1 weather (cold fronts, rainfall,WIND) 2 fish (locating them) its different every year. Be very versatile in your arsenal because Mother Nature will let you know what you can do that day. Prepare to fish all day sunrise to sunset. Watch the weather reports and cash in when it's good. With that said if your zeroed in on the fish you will have a limit in a hour. If not might take all day. Last year was awesome. Got fingers crossed for this year.
The crankbaits are usually used here after the spawn. The water warms up and the fish scatter. It is effective because you cover a lot of water. The average speed is probably around 1.7 mph give or take.
We always count on single pole jig fishing trees. And on having a box of fish by noon and sleep the evening away. But it never happens, but man the fun trying it unreal.
