I have a ProMariner that is only unhooked when I'm fishing. Have checked with meter and it shuts off just like it's supposed to. Like Sat said, they will come on every once in awhile to do a maintaince mode then shut back off until it asks for a charge. Your slower charge is just from the age of the batteries. The plates get sulfate buildup on them which makes it a little harder to charge.

I have thought about leaving mine plugged in all the time, but scares to think of my garage catching fire.I have dealt with alot of batteries and charges,to me its not worth it.
