    Default Local lakes

Are there any smaller lakes close to Grenada to fish if the wind is bad on the main lake?

If you get an East, South East, or South wind, Enid is just as bad.

I think their may be some very small lakes on some government land nearby. I know nothing about them, Rees might can tell you about them. I doubt they hold crappie but some may offer bream or bass fishing.

It's been some 30 years since I fished the water shed lakes in the national forest north of nader toward Coffeeville.. No ramps, trolling motor only. No gas motors hanging off the back. Lots of bream and bass.

Several but the roads will be in bad shape after deer season. All now have concrete ramps and a couple of them have some nice crappie in them but you have to weed thru the small ones. If the lake is around 204 or 205 you should be able to get out of the wind somewhere unless its just awful. Give me a shout when you head this way, will try an help anyway I can. Also, depending on when you are here a 4 wheeler and some hip boots can make for some dang good fishing on those real windy days.

Jig the main river and creeks. Get some waders you will be addicted to it after 1 fish caught.

"Dean Hill recreational area " better known as "Wildcats brake" is your best bet on Enid . Got a few islands to get behind , And lots of cypress trees . Ramp is gravel and smaller boat friendly . You can enter from lake if water level is 247 or close .
