    Default sardis 8/18

got there at 6:30. Launched at Beach point and ran up past Clear creek again to pull back downwind. Stayed out around the old river bed in 30-31 ft pulled from 86-120 ft back . usual colors black bubble gum, sardis gold, pink, awesome pink, mad cow hotty totty and chartreuse. Started slow.at 9 oclock had 1. crossed to the northern side but stayed in 30 or so. Picked up 3 on pink in about 5 minutes. Thought it was gonna pick up but circled back and got nothing. pulled down to the dam and picked up 3-4 more with a couple of throwbacks and a couple that came unhooked. Started the bigger motor and went back north. pulled frever and didn't get anything til we got back over into the western 1/2 mile or so from Beach point. Picked up 5-6 with about half being good keepers. Ended with 10-11 keepers on a slow day. all but 2 on the pink sparkle. Front must have scattered them. I still see a band about 3-4 feet wide at almost 30 ft. Lots of fish associated with it. Small groups of fish show 13-25 ft deep but not as compact as they have been. SWill they turn back on after the water warms back up the 3 degrees it has lost????
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.

I think we must have seen each other all day. Sounds like a mirror image of our day. 10- keepers with a couple +14". Launched at beech pt. about 830. Set up to troll lezbadeeza(sp)? pt. Caught two in the mouth of the cove before you get there 23-25 fow. Picked one up off the point the started seeing jugs/ trotlines and got us off course. Trolled over to the rock cropping west of clear creek picked up one there and another just past the #4 marker on the shelf. Anyway scattered.

Did meet a nice fellow named Sonny from Little Rock at the llfc station. Says he goes by super goose on the forums.

We fished Sardis on Saturday with cranks. Caught 21 keepers fishing from 8:00 until almost 4:00. Windy all day and the fish just didn't bite like they had been. Never could get a pattern on them. The water has cooled down a few degrees but it's still at 80 to 82 degrees....shouldn't be a problem I don't think.

Yep, Mr. Sonny showed me another way to clean them crappie. His electric knife and those huge blades looked as if the were straight out of the movie, "Texas Chainsaw Massacare". He made short work of the fish with it.
