    Up will save battery. Down will act as rudder in wind. So I use a bit of each.as high as wind will allow.
    Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

    Yep and fish with the wind as much as possible with that 80 on a 20 foot rig.

    1.6 is a good start, watch your turns. You will see that you catch a good many fish in a turn, if the outside poles catch a fish you may want to speed up, if the inside poles catch a fish you may want to slow down.
