Hard to beat natural forage, full moon on top of cooler temps not making it any easier

All the crappie I have been seeing on my FF at Sardis are following and chaseing the shad....and it looks like a bumper crop of shad....so yeh....the crappie are full now and not very hungry. But I just keep trying to put a crankbait that they can't refuse in front of their noses.

My excuse...er...theory is this: there are so many baby shad around that the crappie have given up on shade and comfort to chase this buffet. Does this even make sense except in my mind? Could they all just be stacked up under these bait balls and just eating whenever they please?
