I jot down the date, time of day, what lake, water temp and level, rising/falling, clear/dirty, weather, what I did and how many caught, and maybe a few other tidbits that stand out for that day. As I said before, I will look back at trips that I think I remember pretty well, and there are usually a lot of specifics that I have totally rearranged in my feeble little brain. I think it helps a lot to be able to look back at what you were doing at a given time period for the last few years and what the water levels and conditions were like, you start to see some consistent patterns. I keep a little notebook in my truck and then transfer it all to a Word.doc and I have it on my phone too, that old data has helped me more than once on tough days!!
