Its a pretty good concept, gives some flash to a minner. Sometimes I dont think it makes a bit of difference and other times it makes all the difference in the world. At Washington this spring all we caught fish on was a Char/Blue combo gnat tipped with a minner prefishing for the FJ tourney, the next morning we had two on each pole. Those 2 days I think it really matter. Last fall was fishing beside an older gentleman slo trolling, I was catching fish he werent. I had on a solid Char gnat and he had staight aberdeens, only difference we could find and he was wanting to know what them green things were. Some days are just that way and the feshes are the ones that determine what they want.
