    Default spider rig without minnows

Have never been without and don't plan on it , but if bait shop don't have them what type baits work best on a double rig .I know some on this site say they never use minnows .

I like Strollers or the Lake Fork ones with the notches in the tail.

There are times up here during ice season that minnows are as rare as hens teeth. When this happens i go for the one inch gulp minnow. Had a couple times when fished side by side the gulp was out doing the real thing. (but then i got smart and started dipping my live minnows in the gulp juice it was on like donkey Kong after that lol.

1/8 oz pony head on bottom and 1/16 ball head on top. Just about any curlly tail or paddle tail jig will work. May have to pick your speed up a little to get the right action. I have also used the Storm wild eye shad baits in 2 in size that are pre rigged with some success.

Set up wise, yes but you will need to pick the speed up a little to get those curly tails and blades working for you. Slip one over the side where you can see it to determine the best speed/action combo.
