Well said. My sentiments exactly. I'm good with six rods for two. But three rods for one just isn't trolling!

I gonna make a giant Alabama rig so I can pull 6 cranks on 3 of those big white catfish poles.

I have to ask? What is wrong with someone taking there limit of fish be it 7 days worth home? No different than the locals that take home a limit each day of the week. Or the boy's fishing out of those little 8ft boats and 4 wheelers. I have seen those local guys take a limit home at 11am and be back on the water at 2 for there next limit. But could hear the same guys crying because these people from Mo or Ill are taking crappie home.
Come on guys they fish legal, pay there $$ to do it. And as long as there doing it legal whats the issue? No different then guides taking out 3 limits each day? @ guys paying and the guide's Limit. I have to say I love fish but can't eat that many fish LOL

Except for experimenting with small 4 rod trolling rigs, I've never fished with more than 3 poles my whole life and have many a limit to my credit. And the vast majority of these limits were caught on just one rod. After seeing the quantities and quality of mature breeding crappie diminish over the past many years, I think it's high time the state stepped up to put limits on the take by these traveling fleets of trawlers on our waters.
