Birdman if your boat tries to get sideways with two socks the same size check and make sure both ropes are the same length and also try turning the steering wheel so the motor faces the oppisite direction of the way the boat is turning to. Sometimes this is all it takes to straighten it out.
I use an 18" on each side so I can pull straight. Use the TM to steer. Spot on 1.6. Gotta have no feedback steering for best results tho.

mines a 125 HP and pulls at about 3.2 to 3.5 without something to slow it down. I have a long enough cord on mine that I can tie to it where it's in the center of the boat out the back. No problems with it pulling sideways
