I've been wanting to fish there for years and was wanting advice from you guys. I read about and see the pictures all the time. I live in southeast Missouri and used to fish a small shallow lake full of cypress trees, now all stumps, and caught a lot of 1.5 lb to 2.5 crappie but those days are long gone. It's a lake for duck hunters mostly so as a fishery it's been let go. I've heard a couple of stories that out of state fisherman aren't real popular. I really don't want any conflict, had enough of that in 68-69 in vietnam so I try to avoid that. Hopefully that won't happen. If you guys don't care I need advice as to which lake and what time of the year to come. Thanks in advance Rodney.

They are all good lakes and fish are starting to bite good now. Biggest consideration is boat size because they can all get rough when the winds get up but with the right setup are fishable even when the wind is blowing. Just get on here when you decide to come down and there is usually someone fishing everyday and most are more than willing to point you in the right direction and give you tips. If you can hire Feelay/Carl Painter for a day. Be the best money you can spend on your trip. He will teach you more about fishing down here in a day than you could ever learn on your own. Just don't say anything about knowing Speck![]()

Sounds and looks, (I've been seeing the pictures of Feelay's fish), like good advice. I really appreciate all the good advice and the warm response to my questions. I retired 2 years ago and have been planning this trip for awhile. Wife became Ill right after I retired and things got real expensive for awhile, but she's better now and I feel like I can make the trip now. I don't want it to be a bad trip so I will rely on you guys a lot. Hope to see you all on the water soon and Carl I will be calling. Thanks a lot and Hope I'm making new friends. I promise no bananas and speck lives pretty close to me but I don't think we know each other. Thanks Rodney.
